Summary
Aaron has been teaching music for more than a decade. His teaching experience includes individual lessons for oboe, English horn, and reed-making, as well as leading sectionals, giving masterclasses, and coaching ensembles.
"In my studio, I maintain a positive and supportive environment where students can feel comfortable trying new things. When getting to know my students, I like to begin by hearing about their goals as a musician, as well as assessing strengths and areas of growth in their playing. In developing lesson plans for the semester, I focus on incorporating the characteristics of a well-rounded musician, including theory, musicianship, and collaboration. I want my students to know that they have autonomy over their musical development and that I am here to support and encourage them. So my students can be confident and independent musicians outside the studio, I show them the importance of critical thinking when practicing and playing. Ultimately, my goal as an educator is for my students to realize their full potential as artists." - Aaron Wilbert
In addition to teaching at Bradley University, Aaron maintains an active private studio in Central Illinois. If you would like more information about oboe lessons for you or someone you know, please reach out via the "Get In Touch" page.
